We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of the communities near our operations.

We fund initiatives that enable emergency personnel to respond quickly and effectively to local needs and focus on emergency preparedness, accident prevention and education and training.

Examples of our key safety partnerships include:

International Association of Fire Chiefs International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) — TransCanada’s partnership with the IAFC supports the delivery of cutting-edge training and resources to 1.2 million firefighters and emergency responders throughout North America.
Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Progressive Agriculture Safety Day — TransCanada has partnered with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation to deliver the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program which provides education and training to make farm, ranch and rural life safer and healthier for children and their communities.
Alberta Fire Chiefs Association (AFCA) Volunteers Firefighters Campaign Alberta Fire Chiefs Association (AFCA) — The need for volunteer firefighters in Alberta is critical. TransCanada is proud to partner with AFCA to support its outreach campaign aimed at recruiting and retaining volunteer firefighters across Alberta. We are committed to building strong and vibrant communities.

We support organizations and initiatives that bring communities together, develop leadership and engage citizens.

Examples of our key community partnerships include:

Helmets to Hardhats Helmets to Hardhats (H2H) — TransCanada has partnered with H2H to help retired and transitioning active-duty military members connect to quality careers in North America's construction industry.
Texas 4-H Youth Development Logo Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation — TransCanada has partnered with the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation to support leadership development activities for the state’s future leaders and landowners.
Right to Play  Right to Play Canada — TransCanada supports Right To Play’s Promoting Life-Skills in Aboriginal Youth (PLAY) program in Ontario. PLAY partners with First Nations communities to develop year-round play and sports-based programming that develops the self-esteem, confidence and leadership skills of children and youth.

We are committed to protecting the environment. It’s our nature.

We work with national and local organizations to conserve important habitat, protect species at risk and educate individuals about the importance of the environment.

Examples of our key environmental partnerships include:

Ducks Unlimited Ducks Unlimited — TransCanada has been a Partner in Conservation with Ducks Unlimited in both Canada and the United States for over 15 years and has partnered on a number of initiatives including; mapping and identification of critical wetlands, restoration, education and fundraising programs all aimed at preserving and restoring wetland habitat.
Pollinator Partnership Pollinator Partnership (P2) — TransCanada is proud of its longstanding partnership with P2 supporting its mission to promote the health of North America’s pollinators.
4-H Canada 4-H Canada — TransCanada is excited to expand its support for 4-H into Canada by launching an exciting new campaign, called Find Your 4-H Wings. The three-year campaign encourages 4-H’ers to get active outdoors and learn about birds and bats in their community. The initiative also focuses on the importance of biodiversity and sustainability.
