Grand Rapids Pipeline Project

Construction is continuing on the Grand Rapids Pipeline Project (Project), an approximately 460 kilometre (287 mile) crude oil pipeline project with associated facilities connecting producing areas northwest of Fort McMurray, Alberta to terminals in the Edmonton/Heartland, Alberta region.

TransCanada entered into agreements with Brion Energy Corporation (Brion) to develop the Project in northern Alberta. TransCanada and Brion each own 50 per cent of the Project with TransCanada operating the system.

The Project routing and facility installation locations were developed with stakeholder and Aboriginal input, as well as consideration for environmental, archaeological and cultural values, land use compatibility, safety, constructability and economics.
